So here’s you, sitting in on a marketing meeting. The coffee’s hot, there are some chocolate biscuits left on the plate and you’re feel pretty good all round. Possibly with just that little touch of complacency perhaps? Oh surely not? Not you. Well … of course not. So why not read this on behalf of some of your more unenlightened colleagues? Watch out for sloppy thinking from your colleagues! Goodness, what can Meeting World mean? After all, – everything’s going soooooo smoothly. And on the surface, perhaps it is. However they might be leading or indeed being led into a minefield. Possibly one’s that hidden under a quicksand.
There should be no conflict between strategy and tactics, but often there is. The need to achieve growth in quarterly earnings can be at odds with the desire to invest in a market, skills or a technology. Hence the meeting.
