During a lifetime as a profit ‘hired-gun’ our Guru chaired, called, participated in, and terminated more meetings than your average businessman. Most of them, prior to his intervention were pointless, directionless, hopeless – or all of these. None of them were free. Somewhere, someone was paying for them. Most didn’t realise, and those who did usually didn’t know how much; whereas those who did know were generally shocked but were powerless to halt the waste. Guru evangelised and applied the twin edicts that ‘meetings are never, ever free’ and that ‘most meetings are unnecessary.’ Subsequently, he and his clients lived and prospered happily ever after – usually.
