About Meeting World

Welcome to Meeting Talk Magazine!

For those who work in almost any kind of business, meetings are a universal shared experience. We all have experienced good and bad meetings, long and short, productive and unproductive. Unfortunately it tends to be the bad ones, the over-running ones and the unproductive or downright pointless meetings, that stick in the mind! We talk about them at the end of the day with our friends, we reflect on them with colleagues, and the topic of business meetings has become a regular one for anyone who focuses on business efficiency or productivity.

Because enterprising people are never slow to spot an opportunity, consultants have sprung up and so have meeting management tools, techniques and templates.

The team behind MeetingTalk magazine is frankly obsessed with meetings, and what makes them tick. We love talking about them, have lots of ideas about how they could be improved, and even have a few enterprise products and tools of our own up our sleeves.  We looked around and realised that there was really no centre of excellence or forum for debate on the topic – and that is how MeetingTalk magazine came about.

MeetingTalk magazine is a forum for exploring the topic of meetings from different angles and in different ways: from how, when and why we have meetings, to the behaviour that meetings engender to the impact that they can have on business efficiency and profitability.  Our resident Meeting Guru will appear regularly offering advice, discussion, food for thought or answering frequently asked questions.

MeetingTalk magazine brings together views, opinions and advice on often-discussed topics such as: the true cost of meetings; the process: how we plan, run, review (or not) meetings; the motivational, practical, psychological and intellectual aspects of the meeting challenge; why we hate or love them.  Through our own editorial and contributed content from some very smart business experts, we will hope to help the world of business meet better and more effectively – and have some fun in doing so.

Do you have a meeting question? Send it in and our Meeting Guru will do his best to answer! Perhaps you have a great idea, strong opinion or other contribution to make on the topic of meetings? MeetingTalk magazine solicits your ideas, opinions or observations about the complex world of meeting effectiveness, and we will review and consider good articles for publication.
